What is the Home Caregiving Grant?

The Home Caregiving Grant (HCG) is a monthly cash payout from the Agency for Integrated Care to help households caring for a family member at home. The amount depends on your household's monthly per-capita income (PCHI), from $200 to $600 a month. It's paid regardless of how you spend it.

How is PCHI calculated?

Monthly per-capita household income (PCHI) is your total monthly household income divided by the number of people in the household. A household earning $4,000 a month with two members has a PCHI of $2,000.

What if my household owns more than one property?

Accepted Answer

Owning more than one property caps the Home Caregiving Grant at $200 a month, regardless of your household's income band. This override applies even to households that would otherwise qualify for a higher tier ($600 or $400).

When is the Home Caregiving Grant paid out?

Accepted Answer

AIC may take up to four weeks to process an application, and informs you of the outcome by mail. Once approved, payouts go to the nominated bank account monthly, starting the following month. That first payment can include backdated payouts from the month you applied. The deposit appears as “HCG” in your bank statement (aic.sg, checked August 2026).
